    Getting to the QEII Conference Centre
 
 

The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre is located in the center of London, directly across the street from Westminster Abbey and Big Ben, steps from Westminster, and close to the West End, museums and shopping, and other attractions.

There are four airports which service London. The closest, and most convenient, airport is London Heathrow followed by London City Airport, London Gatwick and London Stansted.

From Heathrow

Option 1 – London Underground
Take Piccadilly Line to South Kensington station – change onto District Line or Circle Line to Westminster, or take the Piccadilly Line to Green Park, change to the Jubilee Line and exit at Westminster station.

You will need to buy Zones 1-6 adult single fare which is £3.80.

Option 2 – Taxi to Westminster
Approximate taxi fare: £50.

Option 3 – Overland train to central London and Underground
Alternatively take the Heathrow Express to Paddington (journey time is 15 minutes), and then the Circle Line underground to Westminster.

From London City Airport

The nearest underground station is Canning Town on the Jubilee Line - a 5-10 minute shuttle bus journey from the airport.

Option 1 – ‘Official' Green Bus to Canning Town
The green bus operates a shuttle between the airport and Canning Town Station, just 5 minutes away and from where you can catch the Jubilee Line underground to Westminster. Adult single fare for the shuttle bus is £3.

Option 2 – Taxi from airport to Canning Town / Westminster
There is a licensed taxi rank (black cab) directly outside the terminal. Fares – to Canning Town approximately £10 and to Westminster approximately £25.

From Gatwick

Option 1 – Overland Train to Westminster
Gatwick Express:
Take the Gatwick Express to Victoria Station. Average journey time is 30 minutes. The QEII Conference Centre is a 15 minute walk from Victoria Station via Victoria Street. Adult single fare to Victoria is £13.

Thameslink:
Services run every 15 minutes to central London - King's Cross. Average journey time is 50 minutes. Adult single fare from Gatwick to Kings Cross is £10. From Kings Cross, take the London Underground Victoria Line southbound direct to Victoria.

Southern:
Services run every 15 minutes during the day to and from London Victoria, and every hour at night. Average journey time is 35 minutes.

Adult single fare from Gatwick to Victoria is £8.

Option 2 – Coach to London Victoria
National Express Service 025 operates from the upper terminal forecourt (South Terminal). The majority of services also call at the North Terminal (on the lower level outside International Arrivals).

Tickets can be bought at National Express ticket desks in Arrivals in both the North and South terminals. There is also a ticket desk and covered waiting area in the South Terminal coach station.

Direct coaches depart at 20 minutes past the hour, every hour.

Adult single fare is £11.40.

Option 3 – Taxi to Westminster
The airport has an official taxi operator, Checker Cars. They operate a quoted fare system and cars can be pre-booked with fares paid in advance or at the end of the journey, by cash or credit card. Cars with swivel seats are available for travellers with disabilities. Checker Cars has a booking office in the North Terminal arrivals area and a booking office in the northern entrance building leading to the South Terminal. A journey to central London takes approximately 65 minutes and costs around £77, plus £8 congestion charge.

From Stansted

Option 1 – Overland train to central London and Underground
Take the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street, and then take the Circle Line underground to Westminster. Adult single fare on the Stansted Express is £14.50.

Option 2 – Taxi to Westminster

    By Underground
   
   

Westminster underground station is serviced by the Jubilee, Circle and District Lines (5 minutes walk). Exit the station via the underground tunnel towards Parliament Square (exit 6). You will come to street level on Whitehall. Turn left into Parliament Square, cross the road ahead of you then turn right into Broad Sanctuary. The Centre is located on your right, directly opposite Westminster Abbey.

St James's Park underground station is serviced by the Circle and District Lines (5 minutes walk). Take the Broadway exit from the station and walk straight down Tothill Street. At the end of this street turn left and you will see the Centre directly in front of you.

Victoria underground station is serviced by the Victoria, Circle and District Lines (15 minutes walk). Exit from the front of the station, turn right and walk down Victoria Street. At the end of Victoria Street is Broad Sanctuary; the Centre is on the left hand side opposite Westminster Abbey.

Delegates are advised not to travel to the venue by car.

There is no car parking at the Conference Centre, however there are four public car parks nearby. On road parking is minimum £3.00 per hour and subject to large fines if you exceed the premissable time.
